INNOVATE GREEN OFFICE
This project is a major challenge to the UK property industry. The brief was to provide serviced offices to a standard developer specification, but with low Carbon emissions. Doug King’s design for this project resulted in the first speculative, sustainable building in the UK. The building demonstrates a whole range of novel techniques for resource conservation including, termodeck with mixed mode cooling, CHP, rainwater recycling, vacuum drainage and a very high proportion of recycled materials. The project achieved the highest ever BREEAM score and thus became the first ever BREEAM Outstanding building.
